Gradual Entry Policy

Bee Haven Early Years (0-5 Years Programs)

Orientation Policies

In order for children to transition comfortably into their new childcare environment, it is recommended that children go through a process of gradual entry that allows them to adjust to their new situation in a positive way.

The following is an outline of the gradual entry process. We recognize that individual schedules may vary; however, we strongly recommend that this guideline be followed as closely as possible.

Day 1

One parent or an adult, who is very close to the child, stays with your child for two hours at the center. You will leave together. (9-11)

Day 2

The adult arrives with your child, settles them into their morning, leave the center and picks up your child after approximately two hours (9-11)

Day 3

Your child will be dropped off around 9:00 a.m. and stay for lunch. Please pick up your child at approximately 12:30

Day 4

Your child will be dropped off around 9:00 a.m. and will stay for nap (Please bring any special sleep toys, bottles, blankets etc that will help your child feel comfortable.) Please pick up your child at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Day 5

Your child will be dropped off at 9:00 a.m. and stay for a full day at the center.

We request that throughout the gradual entry process, you stay available to the staff by telephone so that if needed we can contact you and you can be available to pick up your child.
